The Cambridge Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce (CTCC) was officially launched at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge on 14 May, bringing together leaders from industry, academia, research institutions, government organisations, and the overseas Taiwanese community to celebrate a new platform dedicated to strengthening UK–Taiwan collaboration.
Founded by Dr. Ming Tsung (Louis) Wu, Founding President of CTCC and Vice President of the Monte Jade Europe Science and Technology Association (MJEU), the Chamber aims to connect businesses, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, and professionals across the United Kingdom and Taiwan. CTCC’s mission is to foster meaningful partnerships in areas including advanced technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, sustainability, education, and investment.
The inaugural event welcomed distinguished guests from both the UK and Taiwan, including representatives from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, Cambridge Tech Week, the Overseas Community Affairs Council of Taiwan, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), China Airlines UK, MJEU, and Taiwanese chambers of commerce across Europe.
The launch highlighted the growing opportunities for collaboration between the UK’s world leading innovation ecosystem and Taiwan’s strengths in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, biotechnology, healthcare, and emerging technologies. Several Taiwanese companies and innovation partners showcased developments in smart healthcare, biotechnology, and precision medicine, demonstrating the potential for future cross border partnerships and commercialisation opportunities.
A key theme of the event was CTCC’s long term vision to support stronger innovation infrastructure connecting Taiwan and Cambridge. Discussions explored future opportunities for creating collaborative innovation hubs, supporting startup growth, facilitating investment networks, and enabling technology transfer between Taiwanese and UK organisations. Participants also exchanged ideas on sustainability, carbon neutral technologies, and future innovation ecosystems that could benefit both regions.
As Cambridge continues to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading innovation clusters, CTCC aims to serve as a bridge between Taiwan and the United Kingdom by connecting talent, ideas, capital, and technology. Through future events, partnerships, educational initiatives, and business networking opportunities, the Chamber seeks to create lasting value for members and contribute to the next generation of international innovation collaboration.
CTCC extends its sincere appreciation to all speakers, partners, sponsors, and attendees who contributed to the success of the launch event and looks forward to building a vibrant and impactful UK–Taiwan innovation community in the years ahead.
